Wow, that's some really great information about a part of melee combat I've never really looked at. I'm wondering if there's anything to add from here from the drop down page above. This should really be made into a separate one too, IMO, so folks can find and read the information easier, but that's just my opinion.

I don't personally see how explaining how something works as being useless, or out of date. This was the same post I wrote on TDG a few years back, and how it works is still the same, even if we understand how it effects both ends of the spectrum better.
Any future healing balance adjustments are likely to involve our ability to reduce attack and it's a good idea to make sure people understand how it works so we can be more reasonable in any requests we make.
Finally, yes, I should update the current max amount line, but I was just trying to copy data, not update it as I had to drive out of town.

An appropriately geared tank for group activity in Bloodmoon Keep starts out wearing full Praetorian gear with some accessories from Sillysar and a few older bits from Frostcrypt, augments from all over. That's right about at the CoA level you cite. That tank will be making incremental upgrades to the armor pieces and accessories from in the zone. "well geared TSS or Solteris tank" is MILES past the right gear level for that content. It's not about "crap" or "not crap", it's about context. The tank you call decent is really amazing, and shouldn't be slumming around with you in tier 2. He should be off tanking two mobs at a time in Crystallos, where the druid that he's with has to use his full tools to mitigate damage on him.
