AA guide/path inc HoT?

Decided to push my gimp PAL to 90 but the biggest problem I have is knowing what AA I should be buying (He only has 700aa atm and its a total hodgepodge but primarily defensive and dps (at least what I could decipher as I primarily play silk class toons) . I'm primarily interested in using him as a MT/OT for grouping so I guess defensive and dps?. With healer mercs available I don't really see the point of the healing stuff as I don't raid at all. I think I can figure out the general aa line stuff and probably some of the archetype. Are there any class aa's I should be focusing on at a higher priority than the general defensive?

Well im not an expert or lvl 90 on my paladin yet. From my experience and what I am doing with my paladin is, max every possible tanking/healing/damageing aa asap, and for a paladin thats a lot, but it is mooooore than worth it. I have gone from 650 to 1300 aa at lvl 80 and, wow, what an improvement and theres still about 700 aa I wil get before I level to 85 and stop again. If you are lvl 90 by now, I would suggest soloing in Frostcrypt untill you feel like demi-god, makes grouping so much more enjoyable when you are not lacking aa's. 700 aa back in my raiding days (oow) was godly, but these days its just a drop in the bucket and really does make an impack on your character..... Max defensive first Combat agility, stability, shield block, then DPS, Shield specialist/vets wrath/knights advantage/knights return strike/flurry, then healing gift, boon, and adept. Remember, paladins are mini clr's utilize those heals, they can save you when you get in a bind.... At lvl 90 FC > all for a paly, go aa it up!!!! Bottom line, grind, grind, grind, do cocaine, grind some more until your head explodes, you will be able to enjoy higher content and find pick up groups so much faster.

If you think your going to group a lot, I would opt for Tank/Healing/DPS aa's. If you see yourself soloing quite a bit, I'd shoot for the DPS/Tank/Healing approach.

Well, maxing defensives is the end goal, but how you get there should be tweaked. The highest ranks of defensives have a low return vs. AA spent. The first ranks of any of the abilities are usually the most powerful, so balance your initial defensive spending.
