Ladies and Gents I give you the much awaited April AA update, direct from Test 5 mins after it came up.

General

Earthen Alacrity (Agi)
Earthen Allure (Cha)
Earthen Artistry (Dex)
Earthen Brawn (Str)
Earthen Brilliance (Int)
Earthen Sagacity (Wis)
Earthen Stability (Sta)

Each requires Level 81 and raise the maximum each Attribute can be raised with items and spells by 5 points per rank cost is 5AA per rank.

Class

Disruptive Persecution Requires Level 85 and Force of Disruption Level 1. Strikes with a damaging blast of holy magic and has a chance to interruot your target's spell as they are being cast cost 12AA and refresh is 30 secs.

Force of Disruption Ranks 3 and 4 cost 12AA per rank. Assuming the extra ranks will increase the hate generated.

Hastened Holyforge Requires Level 81 3 ranks 5AA per rank reduces Holyforge timer by 5 mins per rank.

Inquisitor's Judgement Requires Level 75 6 ranks cost 7AA per rank. This ability imbues your weapon with the power of holy judgement. Lasts for upto 5 mins or 20 uses whichever comes first and refresh is 30 mins

So there you have 6 lines in the data and all is the same apart from the one changing value:
300, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200. looks like a half decent attempt at giving us a 'burst' ability.

1200*20= 24k * ~1.3 for crits = 31.2k damage with 30 min cooldown ?

From the testing done by others on Test it is focusable and can be twincast so yeah not great for a 30 min cooldown but now when a Raid Leader says burn at least we can try, not earth shaking but better than holyforge or 2nd spire.

Small moves are better than a huge jump that gets nerfed later

Oh I totally agree I wouldn't buy it unless just to max my aa's but I just know i've seen it on these boards each time aa ideas come up...i more miss the armor of wisdom aa's warriors got:-P

Definately missing some main things like AoTI and LH. The proc AA is a right step in a good direction but the dmg output is far far too low if you want to see anything even remotely increasing in dps from it your looking at 4-5k procs. The current state of the proc AA is less then posions which shouldnt be imo.It would of been nice to see more ranks of reduce Holyforge also for sure the disc is pretty gimped as is having it tuned to 52min reuse with AA bought isnt exactly flashy it needs to be lowered to 30mins. I will hold any other judgements on AA coming for now : P

I am with you, the new proc should exceed the DPS gained from using poisons.... Paladins don't get DoTs because that is seen as an evil thing, Paladins don't make or use poisons as this is seens an evil thing. (When I say evil, I don't mean necro evil, I mean a violation of certain ethical codes that place paladins on a morally higher standard) Therefore, Paladins should NOT even be able to use the poisons on the weapons for agro or DPS, the flipside being, the proc should be higher and generate insane agro.

Aye indeed hopefully they can retune Disruptive Persecution to be more damage.

The proc disc I was pretty excited bout its a good idea but again the damage needs to be raised a bunch to be useful 4-5k procs non-crit would probably be about right. As for Holyforge its nice to reduce the disc but man its so lackluster its a shame it cant be put to 30mins like most other discs folks use.

Guess I'll wait to scream and pull my hair out after I get to experiment with these AAs a little more. I'm not really mad, just disappointed.

Why did we create a 40 post compilation of possible AA ideas here viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7202 if none of them were going to get used except two more ranks of Force of Disruption? Not the best for the Dev/Community relationship when you ask us to make a list of top 5 things we want for our class and heed none of them.

Hopefully the hate component of FoD is scaled the same way as previous ranks so we can get 5000 hate out of it. This is the only AA out of this list I like.

Disruptive Persecution: 1154 damage every 30 seconds? While sacrificing the ability to use Force of Disruption? Is this a joke?

Hastened Holyforge: Sweet. Now I can take my DPS from 1350 to 1400 every 52 minutes instead of every 67 minutes.

Inquisitor's Judgement: With decked out AAs you're looking at around 33k dmg total, and that's only if you invested in the AAs. The 30 minutes recast timer actually works out great for soloing though. By the time you kill a mob, the ability will be usable again!

Where are the increases to Lay Hands, Armor of the Inquisitor, and Blessing of Life?

35 dps max increase as a burst ability??? Really ... really? With the intended purpose of being on the same timer as AoTI?

Whoever lowballed that ability needs put out to pasture. In a world where rogue poison procs are critting for 100k damage we have to spend a fair amount of aa for 35 dps every 30 minutes, just utterly ridiculous.

Oh and the DD nuke AA should get focused. 1154 damage from an activated nuke is retarded. Up the damage and put a mana cost on it and call it a day. Bard fade eats 800 mana if they want to restrict the damage we are doing with this set the mana cost at 2k and up the base damage to 8k non focused or something.

total mana pool of 35k/2k cast = 17.5 casts before you run OOM

6.67 casts/minute @ 60s/9 sec intervals

17.5 casts/6.67 casts/min = 2.6 minutes sustaining this on a 35k mana pool

so over 2.6 minutes you could do a potential of 140000 total damage works out to like 933 dps on a 35k mana pool so we end up with a burst ability that we can't sustain longer than 2 and a half minutes. These number could easily be tuned to cost less mana so we could sustain for a bit longer and also cast other spells etc but you get my drift.

(I'm terrible at math so feel free to tell me how dumb I am)



Bard DPS was low so they gave them 1 spell in UF and it has them parsing for over 14k. The nuke can be chained and does 15k damage on a crit before damage increasing AA are purchased and upwards near 30k damage per cast with max aa, focus and glyph etc going. So this nuke would drain our mana just like this spell for bards.

60sec/9sec recast = 6.67 casts per min * 1154 = 7693.33 total damage/minute over a full minute of burning even if you were to crit on every cast that is an extremely low amount of dps


So we gained approx 200 dps from the 2 abilities at the sacrifice of Aggro and a healing mod/ac boost and this is if they allow rush to judgment to affect the nuke timer.

The nuke gave us another sustained ability which isn't our problem. I just don't see how this is helping the situation. I'm not going to be mad over it because dps is dps but I'd really like to see this AA tweaked to do something with regards to burst instead of sustained.

I didn't include crit damage because I don't feel like factoring in how often we might crit with the DD, but I know the dps output would be higher in both scenarios and for the purpose of the solution to burst damage it could be tweaked accordingly.

Once again boost the proc AA 5k base dmg, Holyforge reuse 30-36mins with new AA bought, Disruptive Persecution to 3-4k base dmg, then add new LH and AOTI AA THEN ! finally for the love of god make our ae agro non-resistable and/or AA to put it down to 5min reuse.

On a side note adding new things to the game is fun and all but wow putting them all on other spell/aa timers sure is cool ~

I am not sure why folks are getting mad over the PROC AA sure its way undertuned but it could be awesome burn disc for us if we work with the devs to tune ir properly. Throw out some ideas to them like 4-5k procs instead of the 1200ish ones it currently is. This is the perfect disc for us cause it wont have anything linked to our slay dps all it needs is some tuning.

The concept is legit the implementation is poor.

A real burst ability would be to add that proc but make each AA rank increase the duration and the damage but make the proc happen on every round like the ranger imbue ferocity. Remove the proc limit of 20 and make it unlimited for the duration.

So at max rank for this expansion it could do 1200 damage base and get fully focused and last for 72 seconds meanwhile the first rank lands for 300 non crit and only lasts for 42seconds

so 300 damage 30 seconds and it procs every round at rk 1

IIRC there are 6 levels of this AA

300 damage 42 seconds
400 damage 48 seconds
600 damage 54 seconds
800 damage 60 seconds
1000 damage 66 seconds
1200 damage 72 seconds

Allow blessing of light to work on this add in a dummy recast value so that spell damage can affect it, make sure destructive fury and worn magic DD focus from armor work.

That would be a burst ability.

So then the only thing to work out with him would be the real numbers based on how many rounds of combat we can do in 72 seconds as paladins. Number tweaking is semantics though. Get him to agree to make this proc every combat round and then scale the numbers up or down from there. Shoot for the moon and hopefully he will meet us at a respectable dps burst ability level.

For those of you who don't know rangers get Imbued Ferocity it causes a proc from weapon damage every combat round and they also get things like scouts mastery of fire and or ice. So rangers will go farm boom sticks like http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=53730 and then pop Imbued ferocity and scouts mastery of ice and the proc damage goes through the roof. They also find a weapon with an equal proc for their secondary. This is a small portion of ranger dps under discs and the recast is 20 minutes. For a paladin that has nothing this would be one of our primary dps abilities. This would be a great way for us to burst without it causing problems with slay. This would also justify a 30 min re-use because it would be an actual burst dps ability. In my opinion Hulking we should try to talk him into something like this.

This has potential and we have two weeks where he can adjust the values. please please please get him to tune this or he is going to have an angry hoard of paladins ready to tar and feather him. 35 dps from an expected burst ability is bad bad bad.

Guess they don't care about Paladins. Are they actually listening to our CL?? Why do they bother to ask for our input then ignore it and just say here is what you get no rime or reason to it? I know we as a community have different opinions but that just goes with peoples play styles. Considering they give crap we ask for to other classes and just ignore our requests and feedback. Might as well just ninja nerf us into a another class when we log in next time.
Our class is still bottom of the barrel tank and last in DPS. Oh yes...about that DPS upgrade they talked about what a year ago they lose the post it note it was on or what???

We did Behemoth last night I parsed Amalgamated Steel Behemoth in 70s, 313k @4472dps --- Turayalon 313k @4472dps (100%) which is the last mob #11 I figure if we can add a burst dps disc to add 2-3k dps ontop of that we could b somewhat decent. Take into account all the other dps were doing 18-22k dps.

From today's Test Serve Patch Notes:

- Reduced the reuse timer on Inquisitor's Judgment (Paladin) to 12 minutes.

IMO thats the total opposite of what we need. I have no problem with the original 30 minute recast. If you figure 24,000 base damage every 12 minutes, that equates to 60,000 dmg every 30 minutes. If we could deliver that 60,000 in a ~30 second to ~1 minute interval, then we'd be golden.
