DPS gains from Underfoot AAs

Did some parsing in Underfoot T8 Group Gear. Baseline parse is all DPS AA's through SoD. Then purchased all Underfoot AAs to see the total net gain. (Tactical Mastery and Vicous Smash do not apply here - parsing from the back of dummy, and not using bash)

Buffs: Unity rk2, Might of the Giants, Taelosian Guard, Gift of Speed XX, Devout Fury Rk2. (total haste 108%)
2H - Spiderback Axe (Pal/SK) + 7dmg aug = 159(+3 magic)/34, Arcane Strike V (200 dd)
1H - Runed Longsword (Pal/SK) + Deepsky Stone aug (125 lifetap) = 123/34, Rune IV (null and void)

Parses were ~1 hour each. Biggest increase comes from Shield Specialist, which is no surprise. But whats surprising is that the melee AAs (Flurry, Burst of Power, Enhanced Aggression) have very little effect at all.

I made a mistake and had to re-parse, because I had forgotten to purchase Blessing of Light. That particular parse included Fury of Magic 10/11/12, Weapon Afinity 7, Destructive Fury 4/5/6, Flurry 1/2/3, , and Twinproc 1/2/3..........yet only resulted in an increase of < 7 DPS. Then I re-did it with Blessing of Light, and the results are much better for Spell (proc) damage.

Its hard to believe the 2H melee parse was so low after all that was purchased....its not really showing any significant improvements. Blessing of Light looks to be the best investment at this point (other than Shield Specialist)...which is somewhat disheartening considering its only ~30'ish DPS.

i wouldnt be too quick to jump the gun on this just yet with the near future changes Elidroth has proposed for us. For now, id concentrate on gettin him working on that, get the melee code scaled to where he wants it, THEN have these UF AA's either retuned, or more added on....

Elidroth hasnt proposed anything yet other than changeing slay, he has no idea how to increase paladin dps via aa yet, and as much as he admitted paladin are shit, he also never promised to add more dps AA.

Nothing s been really done in beta to ameliorate paladin class, other than some gimp long recast AE hate (which honestly i am not thrill about cause it doesnt change much cause i will still have to rely on heal for ae hate).

From my own personnal point of view Underfoot is a Spectacular fail for the Paladin Class.

I hold absolutly no hope in Devs fixing our underlying DPS issue, they will say anything in Beta to get people to go away so the 'promises' are just a smoke screen.

Odds 100/1 they are all about to move on for 9 months on different projects then come back and make another pile of poop for next xmas.

39 more dps from 250 add AAs (aprox) for pal ,thats what were used too.Its getting so pathetic that they could convert slay at this point to ubber pally crits and make them work on everything and we would still be fighting clerics and enchanters for 1-2-3 worst dps classes. (enchanters is not really fair since a big part of there dps is atributed from others in there group)

I did some extensive parsing on all new underfoot dps aa's during my time n beta and pointed out to hulk that the total dps gains was crappy at best with just sks new 6.5k nuke dire implication along with pet nuke and more totc ranks they jumpped even further ahead of us .
on top of that from some testing ive seen done by a few clerics they can sustain higher live dps then we can with thier new nuke/heal spells .
I personally believe devs tried 2 throw us a few bones by saying they gave us a few things for dps when all they did was make us worste dps class n game knowing for over a year are dps needed fixed and not trying 2 push it out before uf release is bs expecially with the huge gains in mobs dps.

Test Eighty Five in 21004s, 35361k @1684dps --- Riou 35361k @1684dps (87.53 dps gain)
Total 1683.55 DPS
DPS From Melee: 1575.08 (636 flurries at 1.8 flurries per minute, 43.59 dps from maxing underfoot enhanced aggression, burst of power and flurry)
DPS From Devout Fury: 60.2 (32.95 DPS upgrade from maxing underfoot blessing of light, destructive fury, fury of magic and twinproc) (3.35 ppm, 78 twinprocs fired, 3.6 ppm with twinproc)
DPS From Weapon Proc: 48.27 (10.99 dps upgrade from maxing underfoot destructive fury, fury of magic and twinproc) (5.7 ppm, 139 twinprocs fired, 6.1 ppm with twinproc)

217 twinprocs fired or 0.6 per minute of combined fury + weapon proc(217 out of 1990 weapon procs and 1073 devout fury's(3280 total procs), ~7% fire rate), 3 dps gain from weapon twinproc, 6 dps gained from devout fury twinproc, 9 dps combined (Poisons can increase this number a little bit, ~21 dps by itself, for 30 dps gain total if you run chalandra's poison 24/7 while fighting).

twinproc and weapon affinity 7 pushed weapon procs up almost 1 ppm together (wa7 by 0.5 extra 4dps, twinproc by 0.4 extra 3 dps).

havent parsed vicious bash, but i'd bet it's better then half the dps aa we get :P

Symbol of Planesmaster is probably still the better proc use then devout fury even with max AA. 30-40 dps vs 2300 crit grp heals, heh.


DPS from Best to Worst is most likely this order:
Shield Specialist (1her only, dont rank it if you use 2her mainly and only want pure 2her dps)
Twinproc (Only if you are running poison(Chalandria's Bite, Spiders Bite VIII or better) proc 24/7 while fighting, otherwise it drops below Blessing of Light),
Flurry,
Destructive Magic (This will beat Flurry if you use both Crushes and Plan on chaining Glorious),
Fury of Magic (This will beat Flurry if you use both Crushes and Plan on chaining Glorious),
Blessing of Light,
Burst of Power,
Enhanced Aggression,
Weapon Affinity

The devs are a bunch of wankers... The fact that they didn't make paladin dps a priority during beta when they said something about it almost a year ago is just plain retarded. I have moved past annoyance straight toward I hate this dev team.

The only thing they managed to do was give us a bunch of aa so that we have something to do without actually increasing anything. Look at the parse Riou did of flurry lol.

I am more pissed off that not only we far cry behind sk in dps, but we are also now in term of self healing, which really defeat the purpose of the class.

It s one of the worse, if not the worse , expansion spellwise for paladin.

Folks, I am officially done with EQ. My account's been on hold since May in anticipation of Underfoot beta, and these parses have confirmed that the EQ Devs are incapable of walking the walk. I don't care how many utility AAs they throw our way, as long as the dps gap widens and widens and the game becomes more and more dps-centric, paladins will become more and more unplayable.

Enjoy the next expansion, I know I won't. EQ has lost another paying customer. I am done.

ETA: any DEV saying anything at all about how 'paladin DPS will be adjusted after Underfoot launch' is to me just a hot big smelly pile of bullcrap. I have zero faith in the DEVs at this point. Absolutely none at all.

I pretty much feel the same way. I am so sick of waiting around waiting for something to be done and tbh the game doesnt have much life left in it atm so who knows if the Paladin class will ever be fixed before EQ dies. Its quite dissapointing that our class has fallen off the side of the earth in DPS, tanking, healing and usefulness in raids. Currently we get outparsed 3 to 1 from warriors on burns, our def disc is the biggest joke going in EQ, our heals are a tad low and arent imo very efficent and we have nothing to offer to a raid that another class cant do unless you think our splash spell is on another level.One thing that always made playing a paladin was the undead and sadly with SoD and now UF there are so few undead its pointless. I remember the good old days when we had undead raid mobs well goodbye to those days now we dont even get group undead content. I have played this game for over 9years and have been the recruit officer for the top guild on Bertox Shahrazad for one, its a shame things are looking so bad for the Paladin class.

Is it too late or can you test dps with a UF top end 1hander with shield specialist to compare that "afk" dps with the new 2hander Riou?
I'm not sure i can agree with some "doom" posters here. I think pallys got a whole lot this time compared to some other classes. How useful? I cant tell right now, time will tell. But I kinda agree on the whole dps issue.
I really hope they add more 2hand + DPS AAs next round of AAs.
Healing wise i think we can be quite strong on certain occations. My guild have had to test it out lately with very few clerics on, it really depends on the situation and group setups.
Aggro wise i think we are very good.

well i deleted alot of the logs i ran but with shield specialist and just the old t5 grp gear rend+4 i know sks dps is around 860 atm with just 100 haste and autoattack on behind a lvl 88 test dummy pallies are around 760 if i recall correctly but sks with just using thier new dire implication rank 1 when it pops jumps that number up to around 1200 . but the shield specialist aa's will probably be the only aa's we even notice have a effect once purchased.

Ohhh it just dawned on me, that Bash damage will be increased via Shield Specialist when shield is equipped. That plus higher/better ranks of Vicious Smash should make bash damage a bit tastier.
