The Spirit Realm

I am busy researching spells for my lil pally. She has a pet clr merc so I would like to ask if someone could give me a quick info about the stacking issues between certain PAL and CLR spells.

Assuming said CLR merc do I need the following two spells?

Direction, PAL 66, AC buff
Symbol of Jeron, PAL 76, HP buff

you dont need either, no, symbol and ac buff is useless for paladins

Cleric merc will have superior to both, and the superior to paladins aegolism line.

Oathbound and the new cleric symbol were stacking, you lose some ac but you gain 1k hps.
