So the level 44 pally quest for (Ethereal Cleansing) you simply need 'a black medallion' to drop from either the Troll's in Gulf of Gunthak or the dock workers in Dulaks.

My question is: Does anyone have a solid idea which is a shorter camp?

I've killed all the mobs around the fort in Gunthak for 3 days now. Clearing the fort area 2-3 times each camp. I have yet to see this stupid drop yet. Alla has some people claim 1 hour camps and other people claiming 40 hour camps so I'm lead to believe this is merely a case of being held hostage by the RNG.

But any tips or strats for getting this thing to drop would be nice. It's beginning to border on epic work.

Got mine (years ago) at the fort in Gunthak. Took about a week of couple hour camps a night. But totally random. At the time I could barely solo the fort. Dulak is going to be bettter if you can swing it in there.

Just as a follow up for anyone else attempting this quest.

I camped the Fort in Gunthak for 3 nights typically clearing the fort the whole way around 2-3 times each night.

No medallion drops.

I camped Dulaks harbor only (no boats) for about 2-3 hours and finally got it to drop.
