How is an AE instant heal (what I originally posted) useless? Just different really. I could see a lot of times when an AE heal, instead of a HoT would have saved the raid, because 3 seconds made all the difference in control. Although I probably was a bit too conservative on how big a heal it would be and made it a lot weaker than it should be. Maybe closer to 50% to 75% of remaining hp, since that is actually a significant heal. The drawback would still need to be death, so it could remain that powerful, otherwise it would have to be toned down, (could never see the ability to use a 10k+ AE heal instantly without dying or any other drawback ever going to make it without some kind of drawback).

I was thinking. This idea came to me when Touch of the divine happened to trigger once when I was using AoV (tribute, Second chance). What if they made it so something like that triggers when you use AoV, but don't make it last 42 seconds (so the person can't camp out, but could still be shield healed) or a mez/stun and 20% health left or something? That way you can still get the benefit of a huge heal, but it "takes something out of you" leaving you unable to perform as you did before the heal. Dunno, seems like the heart of the AA was in the right place, but its application in the current game which punishes death horribly is lacking.

AoV will be useful in a couple expansions if they don't mess with it. It only does around 35k or so damage, and heals for like 100,000 or something retarded. Once you have enough hp to not be put into low hp aggro range, it'll be somewhat worthwhile. I've used it just for laughs to have my hp randomly drop really low when there are no mobs around ;p

How low is low, Rihard? 27k & change unbuffed (tack on some for hero sta) is over 35 just with regular buffs, but what about guild banner, cle aura, war epic? How high have you actually seen your own hp? Has to be near 40 if not past, right?

Change the Full hp loss to an 90% mana transfer with a recourse stun and you're talking some serious usefullness.

I'd go with a complete transfer but you'd be useless with 0 mana to hold aggro... although i guess we'd still have aa stun and taunt.

I do like to make fun of Sk's using AoV though... /em stating that their ability to suck and my awesomeness can't exist in the same space and time...unfortunately their ability to suck has banished me to the outer realms to pray the gods have pity on them in the afterlife... cue AoV splat... and then I go get whatever missing item i need from my bank /grin
