Hi Folks,

We are currently working through Solteris and I have some Phosphenes to upgrade a slot and I was wondering what would provide me with the biggest DPS upgrade taking Cleave or Fero from its current level (5 for both) to level 7, any ideas ?

Also am I right in thinking that as Fero adds more swings then it will also impact on my slay damage but as Cleave only effects crits and Slays are no longer based on crits this will not effect my dps against undead?

Any help appreciated.

Well, you are correct in saying that Cleave will not change your slay rate, only your crit rate. Those are independent. I think that ferocity might increase your slay totals slightly, although the jump from fero 5 to fero 7 will barely be noticable for slays since its still based on the random number generator.

Still, I would say more swings are better than more crits in most situations for DPS.

Agreed, you will see a more stable increase in dps from more hits via ferocity, than from an increased % chance to crit via cleave. The + double attack will generate more agro, more procs, more slays vs undead, etc and therefore if qualifying which would have more net gain, definitely ferocity over cleave, in terms of dps and utility.

Fero > Cleave, easy enuf

Isnt fero 5 already about cap with max double attack AA's anyway, and the big boost of fero 6 and 7 is minimum damage mod?

Pardon its only at fero 7 where the minimum damage mod gets applied and fero 7 is same double attack increase as fero 6.
