2HS Type 4 Damage Aug

I was recently luck enough to obtain a . Which is a massive improvement over what I have owned previously (bearing in mind that the Pally is a non-raiding boxed alt - but still loving every second).

I was wondering if there are any easy obtainable Type 4 augs that will improve the damage rating of the Sword. I am not Crystollios (sp?) flagged and my boxed group can handle the Loping Plains skeletons level of difficulty without any problems. Any ideas?

+elemental damage is vastly different than +damage. That's without a doubt the most damaging augment he can get for his 2h, but only because they've never made proc augs appropriate to 2h in other content.

I don't have the hard numbers, and my understanding isn't the greatest, but here is the gist.

Its like extra damage, but not factored like the actual damage of the weapon. And I've been told that it can be, of a sort, resisted. Like +3 Fire damage won't come much into effect against fire elementals, but it will against ice giants. From what I was told (those with better info can correct this if needs be) but its like factoring an extra hit with a much lower damage weapon and adding that to what you hit for, instead of the direct factor of adding to the damage of the weapon.

A much bigger DPS gain is from direct damage to a weapon, but they are all type 8 augs I believe.

Elemental works just like regular damage, completely, except it can be resisted based off that resist. That's all it is.

The ashengate aug is the best 2her type 4 aug for paladins other than the crystallos one.

errr nevermind, was gonna say the +4 fire dmg aug in riftseekers, but its type 8

Derail time! I think it's a balance issue for the classes that use 2h for primary dps (ber, pal, sk) that there aren't better proc augs specific to 2h. A 300 proc, especially a phatty lifetap, would seriously contend with Lava Vein for dps on 2h if such was available. All the proc augments out there are balanced for dualwielders using two of them, though, so the only alternative is one of the two DSK 200s :/

aye Devs actually acknowledged this issue in TBS when powersources that gave procs had to be changed to fit better with 2H weapons. Unfortunately, the DoN type 4 augs probably won't ever see a retune.

Also, unless something has changed, or my memory is worse than I thought, but 2-handed weapons proc more frequently than 1-handed weapons in primary (or of course secondary, which procs even less.)

if you are not crystallos flagged and want a damage aug try the LDON raid you will need friends but the aug is 5 damage

aye I've never heard that either. AFAIK all weapon procs are base 2PPM, unless specifically modified in the SPDAT (old school cleric hammers for instance).

Besides that, the only things your gonna get are a few Elemental ones like this one for example.
