This thread is and others like it is the reason I haven't even bothered to log on hte Pally in hte last 4 months. Every time someone tries to step forward and help bring hte class forward we have 500 dissenters who provide no valid input to the discussion. We have people spend the time to parse and compile the parsed data so it's useful while others chime in that group geared need not apply or raid geared people have no idea on the problems that exist at the group levels. SCS is not a bad Idea for the class if it doesn't mesh with what you want on your toon DON"T 1-900-MixALot BUY THE AA it's that simple. If there could be some sort of reasonable discourse then disagreement and the ensueing debate on the merits and problems of the proposed solution could be worked out maybe not to please everyone but to please the majority. That said Silent casting would likely be a better bet for aggro reduction as in it's current form SCS does reduce rune aggro it help my chanter tons to get the aa. Likewise with the dps aspect some folks will put forth good ideas that are well thought out only to be derided and insulted by those who seem to want wizard level spell dps to be granted to paladins. Or who will look at an aspect of our class and say it's lacking while not concidering many tools your class(not mine anymore) has to help in that regard. Other classes come and try to help by providing numbers or ideas they get jumped on because only paladins understand paladin problems. Sorry that doesn't float other classes may not be able to provide every little detail but they can still provide direction and Ideas that might help accomplish the goal of making EQ better for everyone involved.

Even if you don't, I can back up the statement. Ive stood in Tosk center and just Cast Marrow and had the heal land and gone directly back into OoC mode. And that goes back to the AE agro point. For Healing agro its completely random at times you cant count on it to give you the AE agro at the moments when you may need it and by the same token have it grab agro when you don't. I can "eyeball" it that way (as Kark put it) fine and so can anyone else and it can and has been parsed as unreliable.
What is being asked for isn't useless its a starting point, you must start somewhere, I would love to have an AE agro that would result in a concise and expected result. I can see where 4 would work fine when used in conjunction with other classes and abilities, AE and grab the 4 mobs move them away and a Chanter AE mez's them with their targeted AE mez that just happens to only hit 4 targets. The class Seems to be all over the map with its wants tanking, healing , DPS, atm its recognized that Paladins are way behind in the DPS catagory By the Devs when compared with its counter parts the SK and Warrior, Ill also point out that a DPS increase will in a way help alleviate the short comings others may see in the other 2 areas to an extent, Mob dies faster its hitting you for less time it takes less healing to keep you going.

For all the folks fighting back and forth the saying about throwing stones and glass houses applies all you have done is make yourselves look much less intelligent. Take a step back don't rise to the flame bait don't contribute to it. Don't throw out a 2 sentence post that something is useless and a joke, offer up a reason why you disagree and make a case for why you feel it should be otherwise. Constructive back and forth is the only way this is gonna work.

First - the dude you replied to said he used Aurora for awesome AE aggro...
Then you said there was a bug with aurora, but you thought it should be 0 aggro.

Then I said - I am going to assume there is something wrong with aurora ... trying to give the benefit of the doubt instead of flaming the guy and telling him that aurora is 0 aggro and HTF does he use it for ae aggro and calling him a moron which went against my frist instinct. That approach seemed more constructive than what I was tempted to reply with. Simply saying that if aurora is causing aggro in certain situations we should present it to the devs... if aurora is working as intended then that guy is just a tardcart and ruined his entire post by claiming aurora is ae aggro. hence the ...just wow commment.

You shouldn't speculate on where you are gaining ae aggro - read the lucy spell data. It isn't a big S3kr3t that aurora is 0 aggro.

likewise, just note that alot of time, theres alot of info flyin my way that i try to share with everybody that i dont take the time to "proper grammarize" it. Now when it comes to goin up to developers or other important people, sure ill put the time and effort into it to make it foolproof, but here where its natural conversation na. Here is nothing new, but just my 2 cents as a Paladin.

Get us better DPS, more powerful heals and a better resurrection percentage.

Slay Undead is far more powerful in people's imaginations than in reality, and that hurts us. Yes I can have slays reach 20k on occasions, mostly when still raid buffed. But relying on them is like feasting or famine, you can't predict you will have x slays while fighting any mob. I am not asking to kill the mob in one mighty swing. But allow us to do some real damage to these undead mobs from the last couple of expansions. Our undead nukes are not all that either I have had them land for around 9.5K crits, not very often though. This is our one ability that sets us aside from all other classes, sending the undead to take a permanent dirt nap. I am not asking for any other classes abilities but if the Mob is undead why can we not crit for say 30k? Yes that is just a number but something fair to what our class description says we are supposed to do.

Our regular DPS is pathetic how bad does our live dps have to be or get to warrant a boost. Our Slay and regular DPS should not be tied together. I heard, not sure if accurate, to give us a boost in regular DPS they would have to reduce our slay ability. That is not an option and should never be considered or mentioned. Bring us in line with a real mele's ability and stop making us the joke DPS of EQ.

If it was made toggleable on/off I would have no objections to scs either. As of now I would have no use for it but if they give us new nukes to increase our dps it might be needed.
