Steam Cores

I am aware that SHIP is the easiest of all the locations to acquire steam cores, but what Lvl/AC/HP would you recommend having before attempting to tank the names there?

My pally is just an alt, but have a pretty good level of Bazaar equipment .

Would he be able to handle the names with a good healer?

Being fully dressed in tier 2 (and equivalent) armors, it's intended for you to be able to tank tier 3. There are particular restrictions - at that level of gear you're not expected to be able to handle more than one mob at a time, and you should have a full group's support. A healer, a slower, crowd control either with mezzing or with single pulling, and still solid dps around. Given those, SHIP is precisely the content you're geared for.

Aside from gear, you should really keep doing whatever exp you can to cap out CA/CS, Shield Block. You're missing Planar Durability and rk 1 of Knight's Return Strike (just rk1, it's important defensively), also General Sturdiness.

hrm... be very cautious. With a full group support, you might be ok but you'll need some steady healing and great timing on the slow. SHIP isn't gimp by any means, and the named do hit harder and faster. At 15khp and 3700AC unbuffed, I still had trouble there with a druid and cleric healing on the named mobs, but I also had no slower. I've still not been there with a slower, so maybe that will make enough of a difference.

Sf and mmm nameds are significantly harder than ship nameds so that might not be a desirable rout.
@ the OP: You have alot of weak augs. I'd consider camping some 'easy' high ac augs like Illsalin enforcer medal, Jewel of the stalwart, Crest of the scarlet legions, Forged froststeel ingot and more Shard of the guardian. There are alot more to be had but those should be relatively fast to acquire. Also get a range with a type 7(or 8 ) aug slot and an aug for your charm.

Yeah, no MMMing. The Mansion is overall more difficult than Crystallos, really backwards.

curiouslly do ranks 2 and 3 mess that up or do u retain your immunity to ripostes?

rk2 and 3 continue to work, but there are other FAR higher priority AA's to get.

Depending on the camp in ship zann you may be able to take some of the named i tanked the entrance named in ship that drops pally cores when it added on the pull and sk tank/puller had to stay down as hed snared the pull in case a split was needed allthough it depends highly on groups dps. I was at 19k 2.9kac when i tanked it and allthough it was hairy we managed it for the dumb priest 1hb no core.

Full AC, all the way. If you're raiding, and have access to much better augments, argument can be made to choose some amount of hp over ac. Some amount, like, 100hp over 5ac. Unless you're raiding, though, you won't be able to make trades like that, so go with AC all the way. Empirically, the soft spot for AC in Crystallos is right around 4900 unbuffed. i.e. don't be concerned that additional ac will "go to waste" for a long time.

Nothing in any expansion will be as crucial as capping out defensive (Combat Agility & Stability, Shield Block) AA.
