I think its fine non-raiders can complete the Solteris arc. No it should not be trivial in any way shape or form, but the content inside Solteris is the limiting factor. Just becuase you have a key to a high end zone doesn't automatically allow you to raid there. The content inside solteris would destroy a non-raider. Same with AG and FC ally faction raids.

Sorry Sylvia maybe its just a personal sentiment fueled by a biased opinion or a bit of both but I do honestly believe that folks equipped with non raid gear should have a much more difficult time in current end zone content or the access to it than raiders because of the discrepency in gear values. I also believe that access to that end zone content should be designed to be challenging even for folks that are Demi, DK, AG, FG geared. Stats on the ring is a moot issue in my opinion. The reward is the end zone and what can be had there. Some one also said earlier that How you do things is as much or more important that what you have to do the task. Im mostly CoA geared with few bits of Demi and couple GoD bits that need to go and Im sitting at 3100 AC 12.8K unbuffed and yes if i put the effort into camping AC augs for all the slots that dont have them i could boost my AC by about 200 or more. I group with folks similiarily equipped and we found the Soleteris 3 ? Zhisa mission a challenge. Call me a damn fool but if the new content was a cake walk I think I would pack my bags and leave EQ. One of the primary reasons I play and I raid is for that challenge. I dont want either the raid or the group content to be easy. I want something that tests not only my characters stats but myself as a player as well. Since I am neither the best geared or the best player out there fortunately finding those challenges at them moment is not all that difficult

Just a FYI I never did complete all the mask quests solely because the mission rewards OTHER than the mask held no attraction to me because of the low AC. I decision i today regret and am working on fixing. Admittedly finding the time to do them is not easy never mind folks now willing to do them.

Heck, you were able to do Dreadspire with easy group missions. While it's not the entire end zone persay, it is the final zone. Anguish's groupable component was a joke as well. Access to the AG/FC raids is entirely groupable as well.

You guys act like "OMG! Solteris is the end zone for TBS, keep the newbs the #@$% out". It doesn't change anything if it was a wide open zone... the challenge is what sets people apart gear wise. Regardless of personal ego, it has been stated that these missions are suppose to be doable with current group obtained gear. (moderated)

The problem is that this is not about Solteris. This isn't about Raider vs Casual. This isn't Paladin vs Sk vs Warrior. Enough with the stupidity.

This problem focuses solely on the poor itemization of group gear that is currently in as bad, if not worse states than raid gear. People here actually believe that almost every single droppable item for a tank (in non visible slots) for the last few expansions, have been MNK, ROG, RNG, PAL, SK, BER, WAR, BRD? Tanks need AC to survive... this is well beyond known. Stop muddling the issue with "Oh well aug your gear better". Augments, outside of some notable ones like LBs, should never be considered in GEAR BALANCE. Augments are additional that anyone can put on any piece of gear, period.

Itemization for the group game is nothing more than "Ok, this is for people that cast spells as their main damage source and that is for people that swing things for their primary damage source." This is a huge problem, the only saving grace is the plate armor in the group game. Atleast that is more weighted to a tank class than anything else.

The biggest problem is when you look at an item that is 5ac 295hps and compare it against something older thats 20ac 200hps... it's a joke that they 295hp item isn't an upgrade because losing the AC is that detrimental to a tank. Do raiders like going into the newest content and finding out that everything for their class is a downgrade even though the package looks nicer?

Now there may not be Improved parry 3, but that (at least going by last bloods/bazu) is equiv to Fero 5, Cleave 5.

Dodge 3 is more of an aberation as it is the only level 3 defensive mod available in the group game.

The healer dying then I'll step up and self heal my way to victory, happened many times and usually ends up fine and I've also seen wins using ranger heals; in the group game the amount of affect each individual has on the content is massive, and even paladin heals can heal the MT perhaps half of the mobs life.
