At the early levels, the combo will work great because the Paladin will not have to tank/heal for long since Wizards can decimate mobs at those levels, not to mention the amount of twinking possible to make the low level content trivial as is.
On the plus side:
1. You have a tank.
2. You have a healer.
3. You have strong DPS.
4. You have 2 get-out-of-jail-free cards (LoH and evacs)
But on the down side:
1. You have no powerful, focused healing for harder content/latter levels.
2. You have no slow
3. The wizard isn't very versatile and cannot complement the Paladin as well as many other classes can.
Fact is, there really isn't harmony between the 2 classes aside from down and dirty hack-and-slash style play. One tanks, one deals damage. Really not much more than that. No reliable tricks to handle adds, no debuffs on mobs, it would be like 1 person kiting and 1 person watching, heal will be hard while tanking, ads will murder you, and there just isn't any real meddling going on as possible in situations like a Paladin could have with a Druid, Shaman, Enchanter, Beastlord to name some.

I also think Druid would be best if Shaman is not an option. Load up on as much damage shield as you can to make the best of fighting unslowed mobs.
Another option is Enchanter. You lose the healing, but you get slow and better CC.

Pick your targets well.
I am a paladin, My brother is a wizard. From cradle to 75 and 1500+ aa we have never once had any problems duo'ing massive amounts of exp. And this is only gonna get better with the new PowerMed system. First off, try to stick to mobs you know the wizard can kill in 7 or less nukes. This helps insure that you will be able to keep yourself alive long enough to tank the mob. And of course, get to killing undead asap. It will not always be a cake wlak,, but its not gonna be hard for you either. Feel free to "" [t saryrn.verlane "" with any questions about where would be good places to kill at any level.

Paladin/wizard is a pretty good combo actually. I do this every night. Especially since TSS brought back a lot of wizard burst damage potential. Im enjoying my wizard more then i have in years.
Leveling up might suck without the gear i duno, the game has changed so much since i leveled(1-60 anyway) and back then my paladin and wizard were on the same account so were played seperately.
You wont be able to take down the biggest npcs with that combo tho, soon as you are outstripped healng wise you hit a wall vs certain npcs. I can do 2k hitters without sweating, a 3k hitter only if i get lucky basically. Tho its worth mentioning that im an end game paladin, so i can take a beating while the wizard burns things down. Still a wizards dps complements a paladins lask of dps hehe.
