Anyone good with logic?

Postby Samanna » Fri Jul 20, 2007 8:10 am

Programming logic, I mean. :)

I have two signals - high level and low level.

I want a pump to turn on when high level is signaled, then off when low level is no longer signaled. Trick is, it should remain on as the level goes from high to low, but remain off as the level goes from low to high.

I can use AND, NAND, OR, XOR, NOR, and NOT gates. Sorta stumped on this one.

Nevermind, got it - I figured out what a Latching Relay does. :)

You never said anything about being able to use a latching relay though.... :)

technically all you need are nand gates and nothing else =D
you can make all your logic out of them. JK and toggle fipflops etc

Same with NOR (although, admittedly, NAND is much more commonly used as the universal reduction).
