To be honest, if extremists on both sides of the spectrum have issues with this guy, then the quick litmus test says he's perfect. If the man is a strict constructionist as billed, neither side will be happy with him as he will judge based on the constitution rather than any political ideology.
I will say though, that trying to use his work as a lawyer where his job is to work for his client's interests, is disappointing at best and disgraceful at worst. Take his rulings and ask him questions on that, not his cases where its his JOB to defend his client's position.
Why would anyone want an Arch-conservative or Uber-liberal in a lifetime appointment anyway? Get the person who JUDGES well for chrissakes.
