Explore Courtyard of Comtemplation (Couple undead mobs roam near it, will notice it from 8-10 Arch Mage Scrykin, pretty sure that's their name)
Explore Mystical Bazaar (Same place that you have to steal boxes from Trellen's shop)
Find the way to the upper section (Can't remember where to go, but it's a large teleportation pad with a picture of a dragon on it)
Explore the Small Platform of Storms
Slay two of the creatures near the Small Storm Platform
Explore the Small Magma Platform
Slay two of the creatures near the Small Magma Platform
Explore the Small Glacial Platform
Slay two of the creatures near the Small Glacial Platform
Find the locked portal to the mysterious tower
Speak with Tenaro

Once you port up you get all three explore the platform parts. After going onto each platform you are able to receive credit for killing mobs. Somewhat sure that any mobs that see invis also see through SoS, so even rogues need to stay alert. For creatures, my group (Monk, Rogue, SK, BST, and 2 Clerics, Time+/equivalent geared) stayed away from statues, not sure if they count. The locked portal is the portal/pad that you pass by as you move towards the various Storm/Magma/Glacial platforms, right next to the large blueish tower. You'll know each platform by structures that are on them. Storm had 3 towers soaring into the sky with lightning among the towers.

After completing this task, you can get another one from him, Tipped Balance.

I haven't completed the quest, but while searching Lucy for the rewards above "lost mage" turned up these:

Got a bunch of yellow text hinting that more tasks were availble after completing the first, but Atrayan still only gives the original task. The Mad Scrykin are still bugged to my knowledge, but I had killed them the first day of PoR when the task was working properly.

The from the Elijo series actually is supposed to evolve to (and will as of 3/15/06) . There is on EQLive MB that details the fix, the final product and how to get the cloak if you've evolved to level two twice.
