It's a known bug, and while anoying, I'd rather be able to get the spell, and have to do Ao.3 again, one of the easiest of the 3, to get the chime than to not be able to get the spell at all =)

Word of warning on the first Skylance mission. I just tried it tonight, and both of the assistants are permarooted. This isn't a problem with Gerath, he summons some books that you have to deal with (permaroot was probably put in so people couldn't pull him down and just not have to deal with the adds). However, the other one (I forget its name), with its knockup/back, permarootedness on a platform, plus kind of rapid summoning of adds, makes it by far the hardest mission of the 3 spell arcs atm. Eventually we went full burn on him and got him to 19%. We had a good group, and we're just breaking into Tacvi now, so our gear, while not top end, isn't bad at all. I'm hoping this is kind of like the Takish-Hiz arc, and you only need the third mission to get the spell, but from the way it's worded on the patch message, I doubt that's the case.

Not sure what the wizard was casting. He had silent casting agro wasn't an issue. I will ask him when he logs on. I can't say what the spawn rate of the mob was because both we killed it quick enough to only get one add.

We finished up the 3rd task tonight, and I'm really glad we did the first 2 before the 15th patch. It sounds like the mobs in the first one are less MR now. When I did it it was 50% chance to land either a magic slow or disease, and their hitting for 1kish... both had to be up. The second task was soloable, we farmed it for the mace/cape. Third task we had a wizzy go in, he stood on the table (3 mobs spawn at first, then 1 mob per step thereafter, they didn't aggro him when he was on the table) and completed the steps to spawn the name, then Exo'd out, warrior stepped in, single pulled the named out of room onto the ramp (the guardians will social aggro, so can't do it close to them on main floor). We estimated he hit for 1.5-2k, flurries, maybe 115k-130k HP. Was pretty easier otherwise.

I know a patch note talked about getting both a spell and the chime now. I know I had to hail Ao to have the chime appear on my cursor, then turn back in to Ao, get another chime, then off to Arch Magus in a tent at the Arcstone zone in for the upgraded chime.

Maybe i missed that information, but what happens when i finished the 2nd and 3rd mission already before patch and still need the spell?

Am i ok with only finishing 1st mission to get spell or do i have to repeat the whole arc again? Anyone else did missions in that order before and after patch?

Similarly to the NRo missions, the spell is awarded just for completion of mission #3, you do not need 1 & 2 to get it, if someone who has done them opens up the Laboratory for your group. All credit for completing missions in their "pre-vamp" state has been erased, so if you don't have someone who was completely done beforehand to open up Lab, you'll need to redo all three.
