mcast12 - The complete emperor chottal soloing guide

I spent 100ish hours killing the emperor got all my non-primal 60 and below kunark spells. Here is all the tips and tactics I gathered.

Requirements...
You will need, 140ish buffed resists, fully buffed pet, torpor or kragg/tnarg/chloroblast, regen, epic, 55/61 pet, large mana pool and some FT items if you don't have torpor. You will still die a few times without torpor. His mellee damage is a joke, its his DoTs and DDs that will suck mana to heal you, the better your resists the easier it is.

Getting to him...
Get a 201+ pick lock rogue to open the 2 doors to him or tag along with a group and camp out. If you are with a rogue you can fight all the way pretty easily, about 8 easy spawns. Stuff sees invis so you have to fight. At level 63 I can now run all the way down without agro as most are green.

General Tactics...
There is only 2 things that make this fight tough, having enough mana for heals/dots and him running when almost dead. Using a Swollen Fungusbeast Gland negates him running so then all you have to worry about is enough mana for heals and dots. Without the gland you can stop him running by staying below 2 bubs of health, risky but it works. You can also root him anywhere between his spawn point and the 2 torches near his door on the diagram and he will not gate, if rooted anywhere else he gates summons you and its over. Do not fight him above the fight area marked on diagram or he will gate.

Blood of chottal...
Blood runs but he doesn't cast and root lasts well so he is kinda easy when slowed, probably has 10-12khps His PH a skeletal duke doesn't run and is a simple fight. Fight them anywhere in room, but be careful not to agro the 2 mobs through the locked door.

Pulling emperor...
After you kill Blood/PH wait a few minutes then pull emperor. Only pull him with a NON damaging spell, anything will do, I know for a fact he can be pulled single by anyone 54+ (maybe less) that doesn't damage him. Spam pet back off while he casts on you and wait until he comes to you in the fight area (see diagram).

Fighting...
Get turgers to stick on him and his pet, you don't need malo, it will stick 90% of the time first time. Epic him and his pet, pet will die after 2 epics, heal your way through his dots. He will go OOM after about 2 minutes, you will know he is OOM as he starts casting root. Once he is OOM stack your dots on him, without torpor you will be getting LoM so use epic/pet and JBB if you have one, try and use plague or pox as its more efficient. When he gets to 40 health load up all dots and root him inside fight area. Without snare, stay below 2 bubs of health and he won't run. Use DDs if he runs, take him down FAST or you are dead, he has about 15khps. His PH is a joke with about 4khps but he runs also so make sure you root.

After the fight...
Loot him, 99% of the time he will have 1 or 2 59/60 spells. I killed him about 70 times, got 6 torpors, 1 malo, 1 avatar, 1 tigirs, 5 banes, 2 poxs. Most of the time he will drop mage/chanter/beast junk spells, but the druid/wiz/necro sell well. Camp out in the safe area marked on diagram, NOTHING will ever agro you here.

Other notes...

the spawn time for Blood/Emperor/Phs is exactly 26 minutes 32 seconds
emperor hits for 172 max but is a necro so casts often, blood 157 max and has more dps as he doesn't cast
put some junk buffs in you first 4 buff slots as he can dispell but not often
you need a 201+ rogue to open blood's door, I made a 40 rogue with pick lock modifier gloves to open door the 2 doors on the way down
emperor is level 60 always
emperor spawns about 1 in 4 of the time so expect to see him around once every 2 hours. I have had 6 back to back emperors but have also had 8 back to back PHs
xp rate is about a blue of normal xp every 2 hours at 60
